Texlock - a Creative Company
Pioneers of bike safety
When our founders Alexandra Baum and Suse Brand were in 2014 short of a bike lock that was at the same time secure, flexible, lightweight and beautiful, the tex–lock was born. A textile lock that combines security, comfort and style in a way that is unique so far.
Since then, many cyclists have come to know and love the combination of flexibility, security and design, so that today it is impossible to imagine the bike world without our textile lock.
In the meantime, we are a well-coordinated team that stands behind the lifestyle brand with heart and soul. Together we pursue the great goal of enriching the world of bicycle safety with high-quality, durable and particularly stylish products.
In doing so, we constantly put our textile locks to the test and adapt our product range to the constantly changing security requirements.
For our creative-innovative and regionally-sustainable entrepreneurship, tex–lock was in 2020 awarded with the title 'Culture and Creative Pilots of Germany'. We stick to this spirit and have committed ourselves to these values.
Important to us
Our values
Creativity and Innovation
With our textile locks, we have expanded the world of bike locks with a completely new development. But that's not enough for us. We are constantly rethinking textiles and working on new textile combinations for bike safety. With us, it stays exciting!
Professionality and Quality
Each tex–lock is processed by hand in our in-house manufactory. In the process, it is carefully checked and manufactured with a high degree of care.
With our years of experience, we combine exactly the right material with the right processing so that our material selection works optimally for our product.
Thus, the material properties of our textile fibres are a combination of robustness, flexibility and softness . In addition to optimal functionality, we thus also create a pleasant feel.
The outer textile layer consists of a particularly robust high-tech fibre, which withstands an enormously high abrasion. The chain inside each textile rope is similar. Instead of a normal hardware store chain, we use one made of special steel, which is extra hardened and post-treated with rust protection.
In addition, we are constantly optimising our products to achieve, for example, higher rust protection or more robust end products.
Learn more about our material quality in the blog post about DIN SPEC 60016, the quality standard for textile-based security systems.
Regionality and Sustainability
The final production of each individual tex-lock, all of which have the 'Made in Germany' quality mark, takes place in a former piano factory in the western part of Leipzig.
Along our production line we pay attention to short transport routes and therefore prefer regional suppliers.
Every kilometer driven is worth it, because thanks to our high material quality and professional workmanship, material waste is almost zero.
